Hi everyone Happy Monday To You!
Today I am taking part in a really fun Collab with a good friend of mine on Youtube. You can see Tracy’s blog here and her Youtube Channel here. We are making gifts for teachers, who in my opinion should be appreciated everyday!
I came up with a fun pen/pencil holder made using the Gift Box Punch Board (or you can just recycle a box you have). It is covered in crayons so it perfect for a teacher’s desk to put whatever she wants in it. (candy, flowers, supplies etc)
Isn’t it adorable. All you need to make this is the Gift Box Punch Board and a box of 24 crayons.
Here is the how to:
Cut card stock to 8×8. On board, line up card stock the start line letter S. Punch and score. Also score on diagonal line letter L. Do this for all four sides. Flip over, line up again at the start line letter S and punch (no scoring) repeat for all four sides. Assemble box.
For crayons, I used hot glue, but double sided tape would also work. Start in the center of the side wall. Adhere crayons working your way out to the edges. (each side should take 5 crayons). When all sides are done, adhere last 4 crayons to the four corners.
I did reinforce the inside of the box with recycled card board. Cut 4 at 3 and 1/8 by 1 and 5/8. For the bottom cut 1 at 1.75×1.75.
Wrap ribbon or rafia into a bow to finish it up.
I love that the little ones can get involved in this. They can hand you the crayons, or pick the order they want the crayons in. You can also use a low temp glue gun for the kids.
You can see this video and many others on my Youtube Channel.
Hope all of you have a Marvelous Monday. Hugs, Stacy
Hi Stacy, WOW What a Cute idea for a Pencil holder…and can tell by your pictures that it is a sturdy holder too because of all the different type of writing implements you have in yours….it definitely is totally awesome. Love your video you gave a great tutorial….and your idea for attaching the crayons on the outside is great keeps them attached for sure. Super great project…and so stinkin’ cute.
Hope you have a Tremendously Terrific Tuesday!! YOU so ROCK!!
